Why the Floating Button Disappears
The autoTap floating control panel requires the Display over other apps (overlay) permission in addition to the Accessibility Service. If either permission is missing, or if battery optimization interfered, the floating panel will not appear.
Common causes:
- Overlay permission not granted — Android 6+ requires explicit permission to draw over other apps
- Button dragged off-screen — the panel may be positioned outside the visible screen area
- Service was killed — the background service stopped before the panel could appear
- Conflict with another overlay app — some launchers or screen recorders block overlays
Fix 1 — Grant Display Over Other Apps Permission
Open Settings → Apps
Go to Settings on your device, then tap Apps or Application Manager.
Find autoTap
Scroll through the list and tap on autoTap.
Open Special app access or Permissions
Look for Special app access, or tap the three-dot menu for more options. Find Display over other apps (also called Draw over other apps or Appear on top).
Enable the permission
Toggle the switch ON. Return to autoTap and press Start again — the floating panel should now appear.
Fix 2 — Reset the Floating Button Position
If you previously dragged the panel to the edge of the screen and it slid off:
- Open your auto click app
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → Floating panel
- Tap Reset position — this moves the panel back to the center of the screen
Fix 3 — Check for Conflicting Apps
Some apps that also use overlay permissions can block floating panel:
- Screen recorders with floating controls
- Game boosters or game launchers
- Chat heads or bubble notifications
Try temporarily disabling these apps and testing autoTap again.
On Xiaomi MIUI devices, go to Settings → Additional settings → Privacy → Special app access → Display over other apps. On Samsung One UI, the path is Settings → Apps → Special access → Appear on top.
Fix 4 — Restart the Service
If the floating panel appeared briefly and then vanished:
Disable the Accessibility Service
Go to Settings → Accessibility → find your auto click app and toggle it OFF.
Wait 5 seconds
Give Android time to fully stop the service.
Re-enable the service
Toggle your auto click back ON and confirm the permission dialog.
Open autoTap and press Start
The floating panel should reappear immediately.
If the floating panel keeps disappearing, check battery optimization settings — see the "autoTap not working" guide for the full steps on disabling battery restrictions.
