Download and Install autoTap

Open the Google Play Store on your Android device and search for autoTap. Tap Install and wait for the download to complete. autoTap requires Android 7.0 or higher and does not require root access.

Once installed, open the app from your home screen or app drawer.

Enable Accessibility Permission

autoTap uses Android's Accessibility Service API to perform taps on your behalf. You need to grant this permission once before the app can work.

Why this permission?

Android's Accessibility Service is the only official, non-root API that allows an app to inject touch events. autoTap only uses it to tap at coordinates you specify — it does not read your screen content.

When you first open autoTap, a yellow banner will prompt you to enable the permission. Tap Enable Permission and follow these steps:

1

Open Settings → Accessibility

autoTap will take you directly to the correct Settings screen. If not, go to Settings, then Accessibility, then Installed Services (or Downloaded Apps on Samsung).

2

Find autoTap in the list

Scroll down to find autoTap. On some devices (Xiaomi, Huawei) it may be under Additional Settings → Accessibility.

3

Toggle the switch ON

Tap autoTap, then toggle the switch to ON. Confirm by tapping Allow on the permission dialog Android displays.

4

Return to autoTap

Press Back or use the Recents button. The banner will be gone and the Start button will be active.

Set Your Tap Target

Back in the autoTap main screen, tap Set Tap Point. A crosshair overlay appears on your screen. Drag it to the position you want tapped repeatedly, then tap Confirm.

You can also set multiple tap points by tapping Add Point — autoTap will cycle through them in sequence.

Configure the Interval

Use the interval slider or number field to set how often autoTap fires a tap. Common settings:

  • 100 ms — very fast, useful for game actions
  • 500 ms — moderate, good for form filling
  • 1000 ms — one tap per second, suitable for most tasks

Start and Stop Tapping

Tap Start in the app. A small floating control panel appears on your screen so you can stop tapping at any time without switching apps. Tap the Stop button on the floating panel when you are done.

Pro tip

You can freely move the floating bar to the position you desire.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will autoTap keep running if I switch apps?

Yes. As long as the Accessibility Service is active, autoTap taps in the background regardless of which app is in the foreground.

Does autoTap drain my battery?

The impact is minimal. autoTap fires lightweight touch events at your set interval and does not perform any background network activity.

Can I save my tap configuration?

Yes. For complex scripts, you can save them for easy future use.
